Daquis was famous for its surly staff. Old school Polish business owners are often irrationally tight-fisted and those were no exception.

Let us know how you get on with the new one. They'll probably be serving you the herring on a bedding of their own waxed beard so yes I do recommend some form of stiffener, gph.

Polish question for you, H+P - I've only been to one Polish restaurant ever - the South Ken one, in the 70s.

As I remember it, the food wasn't awful, but not great either, but everybody in the place, staff and customers, seemed to be clinically depressed.

Now I've got a new Polish restaurant up the road from me.

Do I need to take anti-depressants as preventative medicine if I go to it?
